Read: II Corinthians 4:13-5:10
Think: Have you thought much about what your body will be like in heaven? Paul offers an eternal perspective saying, “For we know that when this earthly tent is taken down (that is when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.”
Act: When you read through the entire Bible, you are brought face to face with topics you wouldn’t naturally ponder. For example, most of us don’t naturally stop to think about eternal things because we live in a culture that is based on instant gratification. Today’s verses not only give us a glimpse into eternity, but Paul reminds us how to live until we get to heaven saying, “So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please Him [the Lord].” In fact, Paul says that we will receive rewards for the good we’ve done on earth. In light of this truth, what might you do differently today?
Pray: Dear Jesus, help me to think more about heaven as my home. Give me courage to live as you taught, not storing up treasures on earth, but storing treasures in heaven. Help me to live every day with an eternal perspective! I love You, Lord.
