Week 10: November 16: Series Close and Benediction

As you read through the final chapter of Hebrews (13), underline and circle all the words and phrases that speak to you. Let God's Word lift and deepen your commitment to daily prayer and Bible reading. Consider the words of Paul, then with all of your heart and life, offer a continual sacrifice of praise to God!  For you, a Benediction: Hebrews 13:18-21!

Week 9: November 9-November 15: Hold on with unwavering PASSION

Today's lesson is taken from Chapters 10-12 of Hebrews. The handout describes the following 7 Ways to Hold onto Passion in Prayer:

When you PRAY…Go right into the presence of Jesus with sincere hearts (10:22), Keep your eyes on Jesus (12:1), run your race with PATIENT ENDURANCE (10:35-39; 12:1), strip off any weight that slows you down (12:1), hold onto discipline (12:11), hold tight without wavering (10:23),  strengthen your weak knees (12:12), and do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking (12:25)!

Week 6: October 19-October 25: How to gain SECURITY that we are heard

This week's reading in the Change Your Life Daily Bible provides you with the assurance that you are heard in prayer. As you read Paul's letters to Timothy, underline and circle words and phrases that convict or comfort you. Consider each of the questions in Week 6 handout, based on II Timothy 3:14-17, and answer them either in a journal or discuss them with a small group. Lessons will resume Wednesday, October 26, with Week 7.

Week 5: October 12-October 18: How to develop emotional COURAGE

Today's lesson is about being fearless in your prayer life, powerful in your witness, and strong in your faith. Taken from both letters to the Thessalonians, I suggest five ways that you can develop emotional courage in order to face difficulties, and overcome the temptations of our culture.

Week 4: October 5-October 11: How to find STRENGTH for your WHOLE SELF!

Today's message is a "walk through" Colossians. By now, you are noticing a resemblance between and throughout each of Paul's New Testament books! As you listen to the podcast, be sure to listen for the encouragement, expectations, and hope Paul (and Timothy) give to the Colossians.

This week, as you daily read through God's Word, underline or circle the words or phrases that either convict or comfort you. Don't be afraid to dig deep, step out, and go big in your Christian faith.

In order to get the most out of this series, please read the assigned daily readings that are posted each week (below) -- especially through the "lens" of prayer!

Week 3: September 28-October 4: How to fight your BATTLES

Through Ephesians we hear Paul rallying the Christians to become powerful pray-ers. He reminds them that they first must "take off" their old lives like an old coat, no longer needed. And to put on their new life with Christ. He speaks to them of their responsibility and of God's power to fight their battles. In Ephesians 6:18, he challenges his readers to be constant, intense, and unselfish in prayer. I encourage you to do the same!

Week 2 / September 21-27: How to overcome our STRUGGLES

This week, you will read in Ephesians 3 how Paul prays for the young believers in Ephesus. He reminds them that -- when they struggle -- their posture in prayer matters, their perspective in prayer  matters, and more importantly, that His presence and power matters! Again, I want to remind you that when you combine "talking to God" with "listening to God," you will release MORE of God's power in your prayer life.
